Master of arts in matrimonial canon law and jurisprudence
In October 2018, the Faculty of Theology will offer a course leading to MASTER OF ARTS IN MATRIMONIAL CANON LAW AND JURISPRUDENCE.
Offered every three years, this professional programme presents an in-depth study of the canonical legislation, procedure and jurisprudence related to the institution of marriage, and addresses these themes from an interdisciplinary perspective – juridical, psychological, social and theological.
The course is offered on a part-time basis (evening). It is spread over 6 semesters (2 years of lectures and 1 year solely dedicated to research) and covers the following modules:
Matrimonial Law: Canonical, Maltese, European
Law and Justice in the Church
Contemporary Family Issues for Pastoral Work
Christian Perspectives on the Human Person
Matrimonial Consent: Juridical and Psychological Aspects
Selected Issues: Procedural
Theology of Marriage
